WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — An Idaho man convicted of killing a man outside of a strip club in the western North Dakota oil patch hub of Williston is appealing his conviction to the state Supreme Court.
Jonathan Horvath is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole for the March 2013 death of 28-year-old Derrick Spiegel of Williston.
The Williston Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1CZ6DEL ) that Horvath is appealing his convictions for murder, terrorizing and reckless endangerment.
North Dakota authorities said Spiegel was killed on a sidewalk outside a strip club following an argument. Horvath then fled to Billings, Montana, where he was captured two days later.
Horvath had moved to Williston from Sandpoint, Idaho, to find work in the oil patch.
