UNDATED (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck part of the Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge early today in northern Nevada, about 40 miles southeast of Lakeview, Oregon. The refuge, established in 1931, is about half a million acres and a small part of it extends into Oregon.
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities have tentatively confirmed that wreckage spotted in the Mojave Desert mountains is from a small airplane with a husband and wife aboard that disappeared during a flight from Southern California to Nevada. The Civil Air Patrol says they believe they've found the site of the crash in the Clark Mountain Range, north of Interstate 15.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Education officials are set to announce the graduation rate for Nevada's Class of 2014. The Nevada Department of Education is expected to release annual statistics later today. The rate for the Class of 2013 was 70.7 percent, which was more than 7 percentage points higher than the year before.
BOSTON (AP) -- The Connecticut-based Mohegan Sun casino is suing Massachusetts gambling regulators over their decision to award the Boston-area casino license to a rival. The lawsuit seeks to vacate the Massachusetts Gaming Commission's decision to award the license to Wynn Resorts, which plans a $1.6 billion casino on the Everett waterfront across from Boston.
