ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Elko County sheriff's deputies have arrested one man for attempted murder and are searching for a second suspect in the beating and stabbing of an Elko man over the weekend.
Undersheriff Clair Morris says 34-year-old Eric Alvarado of Elko is being held on $500,000 bail.
He identified the other suspect as 28-year-old Jared Beebe of Elko.
Morris told the Elko Daily Free Press on Wednesday (http://tinyurl.com/mxaj4no) the two are suspected of beating and stabbing the victim on Sunday in the hills near Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital.
He says the pair apparently left the man for dead in what appears to have been a drug-related attack. He says one of the two men also allegedly brandished a gun, but the weapon has not been located.
