PHOENIX (AP) — Denzel Livingston scored a season-high 34 points, including a game-winning jumper with 22 seconds left, rallying Incarnate Word in the second half to beat Grand Canyon 82-80 on Wednesday night.
Livingston scored 24 of his points in the second period, helping to erase a double-digit deficit and scoring the game's final points for the win.
The Cardinals (7-1) trailed 50-39 at the break. But the Antelopes (5-7) faded midway through the second half, allowing Incarnate Word to close to within one, 64-63, on a Livingston 3 with 9:24 left. Later, Livingston hit a jumper with 22 seconds to go, breaking an 80-80 tie and giving the Cardinals the win.
Jontrell Walker added 22 points for the Cardinals. Traylin Farris had 10 points and led the team with seven rebounds.
Joshua Braun led the Antelopes with 22 points and six rebounds. DeWayne Russell added 20 points and Jerome Garrison 16.
