(KSL News) This morning a 39-year-old woman is home safe, but last night she was lost and scared.
The woman spent the day hiking Little Cottonwood Canyon. As she headed back to her car, she says she fell and became disoriented.
So, she pulled out her cell phone and called 911.
Sgt. Todd Griffiths, Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "She's lost, doesn't know how to get down. Rather than get herself into a more serious situation, she called for help, which in this case was the smart thing to do."
Teams searched the location where the woman thought she had fallen, but she was nowhere to be found.
They started getting concerned because it gets cold up the canyon after nightfall.
It turns out, the woman was prepared with food and water, but crews reached her before dark.
