IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A southeastern Idaho science teacher who lost her job has filed a federal lawsuit against the Snake River School District. Elaine Asmus taught for 28 years at Snake River High School. A science teacher at Snake River Junior High School and wife of the district superintendent filed a complaint against Asmus following a disagreement. A subsequent decision not to renew Asmus' contract caused an outcry from hundreds of former students.

MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) — Three people have been transported to the hospital after a nine-vehicle pileup involving a tractor-trailer in southwest Idaho. Idaho State Police say the crash occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 84 in Meridian. Police say two of the three injured sustained serious injuries.

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho couple accused of neglecting a 67-year-man in their care to such an extent he died of malnutrition or starvation will be tried separately. Twenty-four-year-old Charles Wright and 21-year-old Lindsey Winter have pleaded not guilty to abuse or neglect of a vulnerable adult, exploitation of a vulnerable adult and fraudulently obtaining welfare or public assistance. Wright's trial is set for May 4 and Winter's for May 18.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The National Park Service has decided that wildlife on private land within Grand Teton National Park is now under jurisdiction of the state of Wyoming and can be hunted. A reinterpretation of the park's regulations by the Park Service means that the wildlife on that private land now falls under Wyoming Game and Fish Department rules. Wyoming allows hunts for bison, mountain lions, mule deer, waterfowl and other game.
