LAS VEGAS (AP) — Members of the Culinary Union plan to deliver lumps of coal to a casino company that's long been on its naughty list. The Christmas-themed protest is set for this evening at Red Rock Casino, which is also the headquarters of Station Casinos. The union has called on the company to allow a vote so workers at nine Station properties can decide whether to unionize.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two more Chinese citizens took plea deals in federal court in Las Vegas in what prosecutors say was an illegal Internet gambling ring broken up by an FBI raid at high-roller suites at Caesars Palace. That brings to five the number of people convicted in what prosecutor Kimberly Frayn says was an illegal $13 million gambling operation.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Bishop Gorman High School coach Tony Sanchez is set to take over UNLV's football program. UNLV says President Donald Snyder and athletic director Tina Kunzer-Murphy will introduce Sanchez as the coach today. Sanchez was 85-5 at Las Vegas' Bishop Gorman, the top-ranked high school team in the country. Snyder replaces Bobby Hauck, who resigned in November after compiling a 15-49 record in five seasons at UNLV.
