SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police are investigating after a man died early Thursday morning in an apparent ambush-style shooting.
Authorities say the 32-year-old victim was a passenger in a car in South Salt Lake headed to a meeting shortly after midnight Thursday.
South Salt Lake Police spokesman Gary Keller says when the woman driving and the victim arrived at the appointed spot, several people walked up to the car, opened the door, reached across the driver and shot the man.
Keller says the driver took the man to a hospital, but he died of his injuries.
The victim's name wasn't immediately released.
