MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Two online nursing degree programs at Southern New Hampshire University have earned accreditation from a national commission, bolstering the school's efforts to increase its presence in the health care industry.
The school's Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing programs recently were accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Both programs are entirely online and were created by nurses for nurses who want to continue in their current positions while taking on advanced course work.
University President Paul LeBlanc says the accreditation signals the school's growing influence in the nursing field. There are approximately 1,200 students enrolled in the bachelor's degree program and 134 in the graduate program. The accreditation is retroactive to last January.
