(KSL News) A traffic stop this evening in Clearfield was anything but routine.
Police tried pulling a man over. But he jumped out of his car and took off. The officer says the man was grabbing for a black object in his waistband.
Sgt. Susan Poulsen, Davis County Sheriff's Dept.: "The suspect then fell and turned around toward the officer with whatever he was pulling from his waistband. At that point the officer tased the suspect."
It turns out the object was a black cell phone. Police are still searching the area because they thought they saw the suspect throwing things from his vehicle before he pulled over.
