LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- The sentencing of a former Utah State quarterback has been delayed three weeks.

That's because a defense attorney told a 1st District judge that he had new information on the case.

Jerod Walker was arrested in April 2006 on charges of raping a female Utah State student.

Walker pleaded guilty to reduced charges of aggravated assault and sexual battery last year.

The reduced charges would not require Walker to register as a sex offender and would carry county jail time.

Walker's attorney says the problem with the case is that Walker is being required to confess intent to be considered a probation candidate.

Walker is currently in custody at the Cache County Jail.
