ELKO, Nev. (AP) — U.S. Bureau of Land Management officials will meet in Elko later this month with a citizen-based advisory panel to discuss a variety of federal land management issues.
Members of the Northeastern Great Basin Resource Advisory Council will gather with BLM at the Elko district office at 9 a.m. on Oct. 16.
This month's agenda includes discussion of standards and guidelines for livestock grazing as well as the agency's wild horse and burro program.
A public comment period is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
The council is one of three regional advisory panels in Nevada. Members represent both commercial and non-commercial users of the land, including environmental, livestock, mining, Native American and wild horse interests, as well as state agencies and elected officials.
