WASHINGTON (AP) — Texas health officials have ordered four members of a family in Dallas to remain in their home because they hosted a Liberian man who is the first confirmed case of Ebola in the U.S. Authorities have posted law enforcement outside the home to make sure the family remains quarantined. They'll be checked for fevers of the next three weeks.

NEW YORK (AP) — An American cameraman helping to cover the Ebola outbreak in Liberia for NBC News has tested positive for the virus and will be flown back to the United States for treatment. An NBC News official says the rest of the news crew, including medical correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman, will be flown back to the U.S. and placed in quarantine for 21 days "in an abundance of caution." The cameraman has been working in Liberia for three years and was hired by the network on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama says it's "not a question of if but when" he'll use his presidential powers to act on immigration. The president offered the assurance at a gathering of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Some activists expressed disappointment last month when he decided to delay his earlier pledge to act quickly after summer's end to help some immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A suburban St. Louis woman denies that she posted on Twitter a claim that a member of a grand jury told her the panel lacked evidence to prosecute the Ferguson police officer who fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown. Susan Nichols told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that her Twitter account was hacked. Nichols says she has spoken with authorities. County prosecutors say they're reviewing the report.

BALTIMORE (AP) — The Baltimore Orioles have hammered out 12 hits in defeating the Detroit Tigers 12-3 in the opener of their AL Division Series. The 12 runs set a postseason record for Baltimore, making its second playoff appearance since 1997. Game 2 of the best-of-five series, will also be played at Baltimore's Camden Yards.
