SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — More than 50 people could be asked to testify at an evidence hearing on bribery charges filed against former Utah attorneys general John Swallow and Mark Shurtleff. The list includes prosecutors from the attorney general's office, Swallow's former campaign staffers and Shurtleff's wife. Shurtleff and Swallow have denied any wrongdoing.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The waiting continues for gay and lesbian couples in Utah after the U.S. Supreme Court announced today that it has taken no action yet on appeals asking it to take up the issue of same-sex marriage. Officials with the Mine Safety and Health Administration issued a list of best practices for working with equipment like the mobile diesel can-setter that Alejandro Ramirez was operating at the time of his death.
