SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Oprah Winfrey is in central New York to attend the dedication of a newly-renovated building on the Syracuse University campus.

Winfrey will be at Monday afternoon's ribbon-cutting ceremony for the refurbished Newhouse 2, part of the university's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

The building opened in 1974 to house the school's broadcast journalism department. It recently underwent $18 million in improvements to its studios.

Winfrey is scheduled to speak before the ribbon-cutting in the Goldstein Auditorium of the Schine Student Center.
