LONDON (AP) — European nations who have so far joined the U.S.-led coalition against the Islamic State group are only willing to take part in air strikes in Iraq, leaving Syrian militant positions to the U.S. and some Middle Eastern allies. The latest countries to sign on are Britain, Belgium and Denmark. British Prime Minister David Cameron calls the Islamic State group "psychopathic terrorists."
UNDATED (AP) — Police say an examination of the hard drive of the suspect in a deadly ambush on Pennsylvania state troopers shows that Eric Frein (freen) studied long and hard before he acted. Authorities say Frein did Internet research on how to avoid police manhunts as well as law enforcement technology and survival skills. Frein continues to elude searchers.
DAVIS, Okla. (AP) — A crash in Oklahoma has killed four members of a Texas college softball team. Police say the team's van collided with a tractor trailer that crossed the center median of Interstate 35 as the group was on its way back to North Central Texas College in Gainesville, Texas. All of the victims were team members.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A new Associated Press-GfK poll has discovered confusion. And what's confusing people are issues facing the country, like the federal health care law, NSA surveillance and the way the Federal Reserve affects interest rates. A large majority say it's all getting harder to figure out, even for those who try to follow events closely. Some say it's partly because politicians would rather snipe at one another than clearly explain anything.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Clinton family has a new addition. Chelsea Clinton, has given birth to her first child, a daughter named Charlotte. That turns Chelsea Clinton's parents, Bill and Hillary Clinton, into grandparents.
