ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills starting receiver Robert Woods was held out of practice, a day after hurting his ankle.
Woods told The Associated Press he spent Thursday having the injury treated. Woods is confident he will play Sunday, when the Bills (2-0) host the San Diego Chargers (1-1).
The second-year player walked with only a slight limp.
Rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins said Woods took part in a walk-through earlier in the day.
Coach Doug Marrone provided no details on the nature or seriousness of the injury except to say Woods was hurt near the end of practice Wednesday.
Marrone wouldn't speculate on whether Woods will be able to play on Sunday.
Watkins was listed as practicing fully despite a nagging rib injury.
