LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas aren't saying yet if anything was taken in a reported grab-and-run robbery during the weekend at the Palace Station casino-hotel.
Officer Laura Meltzer says robbery detectives are looking for a man who punched an employee trying to stop him behind a counter in a restricted area minutes before 10 p.m. Sunday.
Meltzer said the area wasn't a cashier's cage.
Police were reviewing security video after the suspect fled on foot from the casino-hotel off Sahara Avenue near Interstate 15.
Meltzer says he's described as being in his 20s, wearing dark clothing.
Police also are investigating whether a getaway vehicle was involved.
The casino, with about 1,000 rooms, is one of several owned and operated by Station Casinos that caters to local gamblers.
