LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada transportation officials have expanded overnight hours for commercial trucks to use a flood-damaged stretch of Interstate 15 between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, while crews continue repairs. The freeway has one lane open in each direction through a stretch near Moapa, about 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Investigators say a wing malfunctioned before an experimental aircraft crashed last week in Reno, killing a retired Air Force pilot from California. Pilot Lee Behel was attempting to qualify for the Reno National Championship Air Races. The crash left a more than half-mile-long debris path in a remote part of the Stead Airport race course.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A federal agency is calling on museums and schools to change the way they do science demonstrations in light of a fire that injured 13 people, most of them children, earlier this month at a Reno museum. The U.S. Chemical Safety Board is urging educators to end or limit their use of methanol or other flammable chemicals in demonstrations involving flames.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 28-year-old former Las Vegas strip club dancer faces up to 15 years in state prison when she is sentenced to today in a crash that killed a man and injured the man's 2-year-old son. Shauna Miller was accused of having five times the legal limit of marijuana in her blood when she crashed her boyfriend's Hummer into the driver's side of a Ford Escort in March 2013.
