OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A Weber State University nursing professor is among two people who died last week in an apparent murder-suicide at an Ogden home.
Police say 52-year-old Richard Candland shot at his daughter Friday before killing his 50-year-old estranged wife Cynthia Candland and then killing himself.
The 22-year-old daughter was treated for a gunshot wound to her hand.
Nursing school chair Susan Thurnock called assistant professor and nurse Cynthia Candland a model educator and said Candland's death was devastating for all who knew her.
