(KSL News) East Millcreek Township kicked off a new festival to celebrate outdoor recreation and help build community identity.
At a preview today residents had their bikes tuned up while the younger crowd met a group of birds, including a cockatoo, who seemed to enjoy the attention.
Aimee McConkie/ Festival Chair: "A lot of people don't know that they belong to a community and so we got together as a Millcreek Township to let people know that they belong to a community and that they are a part of something."
The unincorporated Salt Lake County township has around 67-thousand residents in the Millcreek, Mount Olympus and Canyon Rim areas.
