(KSL News) A police officer was injured during the Salt Lake City Marathon.

Police say an officer riding a motorcycle was helping direct traffic between groups of runners on 800 South and State Street. They say one driver hesitated, and the officer thought she was stopped.

He started driving at the same time she did, and the two collided.

The officer broke his leg. The woman in the car was not injured.

No one was cited.
