(KSL News) A St. George man is convicted of kidnapping and rape, even though he wasn't in the courtroom.

A warrant for the arrest of Marc Bryant was issued Monday after he failed to appear for trial and his ankle monitor was found to be inoperative.

Bryant was accused of terrorizing and raping the 16-year-old daughter of his roommate four years ago. Defense attorneys claimed the victim lied about the incident and was putting on a "good act" for the court.

Bryant faces life in prison.
