(KSL News) A former West High School guidance counselor has pleaded guilty to having a sexual relationship with a student.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Marco R. Herrera pleaded guilty to three second-degree felony counts of forcible sexual abuse yesterday in 3rd District Court. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped seven other charges including one count of rape.
Prosecutors said Herrera engaged in sex with the underage girl at least three times between April and June of last year and one incident of sexual contact happened at the school.
Herrera will face up to 15 years in prison on each count when he is sentenced in June.
