West Valley City, Utah - The Fresno Falcons scored two late third period goals to defeat the Utah Grizzlies 3-0 Wednesday night at the E-Center. The Grizzlies now lead the best-of-seven series two games to one with game four scheduled for Friday at the E-Center.
Fresno took a 1-0 lead on an Oren Eizenman goal at 11:16 of the first period as Utah struggled with a puck in the neutral zone.
The game stayed 1-0 until Fresno made it 2-0 19 seconds into a power-play on a goal from Josh Prudden. The Falcons added an empty-net goal with 21 seconds to go for the 3-0 final score.
Fresno netminder Jake Moreland stopped all 37 shots he saw from Utah. Nathan Lawson suffered his first loss of the season to Fresno dropping to 5-1, stopping 31 of 33 shots.
The power-play which had been very instrumental for Utah saw the Grizzlies go 0-6 after a 6-16 clip in the first two games.
