WEST VALLEY CITY — A man is in critical condition after the bicycle he was riding was hit by an oncoming vehicle early Saturday morning in West Valley City.
The male bicyclist was going northbound on 4800 West, approaching the intersection at 3100 South, when he ran a red light around 6:41 a.m., according to West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor. The man was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound on 3100 South.
“He suffered several broken bones, but it doesn’t appear anything is life threatening at this point,” Taylor said.
The man was transported to an area hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
No one in the vehicle was injured in the accident.
