(KSL News) A Layton man tried to commit suicide this morning, but instead just caused a mess for his neighbors.
Neighbors at the man's apartment complex called for help this morning when they smelled gas coming from his unit. Officers arriving on the scene found he had punctured the gas line in an effort to asphyxiate himself. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No one else was injured, but more than a dozen people were evacuated while fire crews secured the scene and Questar crews fixed the line.
The man could now face charges.
