SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities have identified the Reno man who was found dead during the weekend in the Truckee River in Sparks.
The Washoe County coroner's office said on Monday the victim was 38-year-old Keith Hagar.
Sparks fire Battalion Chief Barry Hagen say authorities were summoned about 1:35 p.m. Sunday, after a passer-by noticed the man's body floating about 10 feet from the river bank near Fisherman's Park.
That's near Galletti Way and Glendale Avenue.
Police said in a statement that it appeared he entered the river upstream from where he was found, and that he had been dead for several hours. Finals results of the autopsy are pending, but police say they do not suspect foul play.
