CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Supreme Court has overturned the death penalty conviction of a 65-year-old man found guilty of raping and bludgeoning a 23-year-old female Air Force service member. The court ruled that the Clark County judge should have allowed defense attorneys to argue against dismissing a black prospective juror.

ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Elko police have captured a teenager accused of stealing guns in a home burglary after escaping from the Nevada Youth Training Center. Elko Police Chief Ben Reed says officers spotted the suspect near the Red Lion Casino last night, about a day after he escaped. Police say he was arrested after a short foot chase.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal authorities have ordered a Las Vegas food distributor to recall almost 15,000 pounds of raw pork nuggets shipped since January to southern Nevada hotels and restaurants. They say the 10-poiund cases of battered, deep-fried pork nuggets from Mr. Wok Foods contain wheat, an allergen that isn't declared on product labels.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Latin Grammy Awards will broadcast their 15th annual show from Las Vegas again this year. Organizers announced today that the awards show will take place Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. It is the seventh time the event has been held in Las Vegas, but the first time it has been held in the arena, which holds about 17,000 people.
