BRUSSELS (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry has warned Iraq's neighbors that taking military action could further heighten sectarian divisions. Kerry was referring to Syrian airstrikes against Sunni extremists operating in Iraq near Syria's border. And Iran has been flying surveillance drones in Iraq.

MOSCOW (AP) — The Kremlin is voicing support for a peace plan in Ukraine and has renounced the right to send troops into Ukraine. It's apparently an effort to avoid a new, more crippling round of sanctions. A cease-fire, already fragile, is set to expire Friday.

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Congressman Charles Rangel has scored a virtual photo-finish victory in his Harlem primary. Rangel, who is 84, will serve a 23rd term if he wins in November. Rangel defeated state Sen. Adriano Espaillat (ah-dree-AH'-noh ehs-peye-YAHT') by fewer than 2,000 votes. Rangel says he won't run again.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Tea party challenger Chris McDaniel is alleging that irregularities led to his defeat yesterday in a runoff against Mississippi Rep. Sen. Thad Cochran. McDaniel is angry that Democrats -- most of whom are black -- crossed over and voted for Cochran. McDaniel is refusing to concede defeat. Cochran will now face Democrat Travis Childers this fall.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former NFL tight end Ben Utecht YOO'-tehk has told lawmakers in Washington that he fears where his history of brain injuries will leave him in the future. Utecht, who suffered five documented concussions and lots of head dings, says he started experiencing memory loss at age 29. The NFL agreed to remove a $675 million cap on damages from thousands of concussion-related claims.
