DENVER (AP) — The state of Utah plans to appeal a ruling that found states must allow gay couples to marry. The Utah attorney general will seek a review of the decision today by a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver. But spokeswoman Missy Larsen says the office is still assessing whether it will go directly to the U.S. Supreme Court or ask the entire 10th Circuit to review the ruling.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Gov. Gary Herbert says he's disappointed in a ruling from a federal appeals court that Utah's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. The Republican governor says the issue won't be settled for anyone until the Supreme Court rules on the case. The governor says the state will abide by whatever the Supreme Court decides.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — One of the plaintiffs in in Utah's gay marriage case says she and her wife are "thrilled" with a ruling by a federal appeals court that states must allow gay couples to marry. Kody Partridge and her wife, Laurie Wood, were working in their garden when they heard the news this morning. She called it "a big day" for plaintiffs across the country.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Gov. Gary Hebert is telling supporters he intends to run for re-election in 2016. He spoke to supporters at a breakfast this morning that did not appear on his publicly available schedule. Herbert's spokesman says the governor did not make an official announcement. He said any official announcement would likely come early next year.
