COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Caydee Denney and John Coughlin, the 2012 U.S. pairs champions, will not compete next season as Denney continues to rehabilitate a right ankle injury.
She was injured in March while training for the world championships.
Denney and Coughlin teamed in May 2011, then won the 2012 U.S. title and bronze medals at Four Continents that year, three Grand Prix Series events in subsequent seasons, and came in third at this year's nationals.
"After a lot of therapy, I am excited to take the next step of getting back on the ice beginning with performing in shows and eventually strengthening back to a competitive level," Denney said.
