The event today at the Resort on Mt. Charleston showcased woodland scars, lasting effects and steps toward recovery from the Carpenter 1 fire.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A federal judge says he won't reconsider a lawsuit alleging that officials at Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas violated a patient's civil rights by giving him a bus ticket to California upon discharge. An American Civil Liberties Union attorney who represents the patient says he plans to appeal the ruling.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The FBI says a nationwide operation targeting commercial sex trafficking of minors found seven juveniles in Las Vegas and resulted in the arrests of two suspected pimps. Federal authorities say the Nevada cases were part of a sweep that led to 281 arrests on state and federal charges and the recovery of 168 youngsters
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 43-year-old former schoolteacher has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for an April 2011 shooting involving a crew of the reality TV show "Repo Games" in his North Las Vegas neighborhood. Carlos Barron testified at trial that it was self-defense when he confronted two men in a van blocking his driveway. No one was wounded.
