MIAMI (AP) — Pro Bowl center Mike Pouncey, the lone returning starter in the Miami Dolphins' offensive line, is expected to miss the start of the season recovering from hip surgery.
Pouncey was injured during offseason workouts and underwent surgery Monday that will likely sideline him for at least a couple of games in September.
Pouncey also faces a possible suspension from the NFL. He's the only player implicated in last year's bullying scandal still on the Dolphins' roster.
The Dolphins could be without another veteran when training camp begins next month. Running back Knowshon Moreno, who signed a $3.275 million, one-year contract in March, is expected to be sidelined for at least a month to recover from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
