SAN ANTONIO (AP) — The U.S. Army says Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has been released from inpatient care at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. A statement yesterday from the Army says the former prisoner of war in Afghanistan is now receiving outpatient care at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. The Army says his "reintegration process" is proceeding with exposure to more people and a gradual increase of social interactions.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Most chief executive officers of Idaho's publicly traded companies saw their pay increased in 2013. The median raise for the CEOs was 12 percent in each company's latest fiscal year. Only one CEO among the nine took a pay cut. When compared with overall Idaho employee pay, the CEOs came out way ahead. Idaho workers' median hourly wage rose by half a percent in 2013. The median hourly pay for all Idaho CEOs, across all industries, went up by 5.5 percent between 2012 and 2013.
POST FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A shooting that occurred on the interstate and involved police officers from several jurisdictions in northern Idaho sent one person to the hospital in critical condition. A short statement released by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says the shooting occurred about 2 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 90 in Post Falls. It says officers and deputies from the Coeur d'Alene Police Department, Kootenai County Sheriff's Office, Idaho State Police and the Post Falls Police Department were involved.
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a Coeur d'Alene man thwarted a possible criminal act by another man armed with a knife by pulling out his concealed weapon. The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says the incident was reported last Wednesday by a man who said he was sightseeing with his 2-year-old daughter at Higgins Point on Lake Coeur d'Alene. The father told police that another man with a knife approached them and demanded money. The man fled in a van when the father pulled out his gun.
