(KSL News) An attempted traffic stop turns into a dangerous chase through the streets of Salt Lake overnight.
A Utah Highway Patrol trooper tried to stop a car for a headlight violation near South Temple and 900 West, but the driver drove off. He led troopers and police through the neighborhood until he ran a red light and slammed into another car.
The suspect bailed out of the car, but a police dog caught up with him. Another person in the car got away.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for a dog bite wound. Everyone inside the car he hit was OK.
He could face several charges. Police still aren't sure why he ran.
