WASHINGTON CITY — Police are asking for help to find two men they say assaulted a third man in the parking lot of an El Pollo Loco restaurant at 745 West Telegraph St.
The assault happened Thursday at 12:20 p.m. near the drive-up window, according to a statement from the Washington City Police Department. After receiving an order, a newer-model black Honda Odyssey left the window and stopped in the parking lot, the statement said.
Witnesses told police a passenger got out of the van and started to argue with the driver of a pickup truck that had been behind the van in the drive-up line. The driver of the Odyssey also got out and began physically assaulting the pickup truck driver, police said.
The pickup truck driver was seriously injured in the attack and had to be transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center, police said.
His attackers got back in the van and left the restaurant “at a high rate of speed,” according to witnesses. They are described as white males in their mid- to late-20s; one of whom had “scraggly” shoulder-length hair.
Their Honda Oddessy had a sticker on the back that said “Desert Thunder,” the witnesses said.
