BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho's unemployment rate has dropped below 5 percent for the first time in nearly six years. The Idaho Department of Labor said today the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 4.9 percent in May. The number of jobless workers in the state dropped below 38,000 for the first time since July 2008. Idaho's economy has added 29,000 jobs since January.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Residents in a Boise neighborhood evacuated after a car crashed into a home and severed a natural gas line were allowed to return home about five hours later. Police say the crash occurred about 3 a.m. on Cleveland Street in an area called the Boise Bench. Police are investigating the crash and looking for the driver.

BUTTE, Mont. (AP) — The suspect in an Idaho bank robbery has been arrested in southwestern Montana. Anaconda police arrested 60-year-old Ronald Schumaker remains in jail today on $250,000 bond. He was arrested yesterday on a warrant issued after a U.S. Bank branch in Pocatello was robbed.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The Public Charter School Commission has issued a letter of intent to revoke an Idaho Falls charter school's charter. The Post Register reports that the commission notified Odyssey Charter School this week after the school failed three accreditation readiness visits. The school has about 200 students.
