LAS VEGAS (AP) — Organizers expect more than 140,000 people to descend upon the Las Vegas Motor Speedway starting tonight for the Electric Daisy Carnival. The three-night rave features the biggest names in electronic dance music, plus carnival rides, fireworks and other spectacles. Organizers say nearly 95 percent of attendees traveled from outside the Las Vegas area to attend.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas authorities plan to file felony charges against a 34-year-old woman who's accused of throwing her two young children from a second-story window before jumping herself. Luz Robledo Ibarra remains hospitalized with a broken pelvis and other injuries. Her children, both younger than 2, were critically injured in the pre-dawn incident June 12.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A Hindu statesman from Nevada led members of Congress in prayer yesterday. Rajan Zed of Reno delivered the prayer in Washington D.C. as the guest chaplain opening yesterday's session of the U.S. House of Representatives. Zed was the first to give a Hindu prayer to open the U.S. Senate in 2007.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — One hundred children are expected to meet up at the Wet'N'Wild waterpark in Las Vegas this morning to join in what may be the world's largest swimming lesson. They are joining thousands of other children and adults at pools across the globe for a simultaneous, 30-minute swim class. They're trying to break the current Guinness World Record, which stands at over 32,000 participants.
