BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Vermont's largest hospital is planning to change its name.
Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington is expected to be called The University of Vermont Medical Center this fall as part of a branding strategy.
Fletcher Allen President Dr. John Brumsted said Thursday that "the new name reflects our teamwork - today and for the months and years to come."
Fletcher Allen Partners is made up of four hospitals in Vermont and northern New York.
CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, New York, will become Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital and will use the name together with The University of Vermont Health Network. Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin and Elizabethtown Community Hospital in New York will also use their names in conjunction with The University of Vermont Health Network.
