TOOELE, Utah (AP) — A Tooele woman has pleaded guilty to child abuse homicide in the methadone-related death of her 2-year-old son earlier this year.
Jill Goff entered the plea Tuesday in 3rd District Court in the death of Aiden Goff.
The 32-year-old Goff was arrested Feb. 1, the day after paramedics were called to her home and found the child unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the home.
Goff told police she accidently poured methadone into a cup rather than Gatorade but didn't immediately call for help because she was scared.
Police say the woman's 8-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter later tested positive for methadone.
Goff faces a possible prison term of one to 15 years when she's sentenced Aug. 19.
