HESPERIA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a mother and her live-in boyfriend have been arrested after deputies found her 6-month old boy with broken bones in San Bernardino County.
The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1lZpGsp ) reports a physician called the child abuse hotline and requested a welfare check after the mother attempted to get treatment for the child.
When a deputy arrived at the boy's home in Hesperia Tuesday night, he noticed deformities on the boy's arms and legs.
Sheriff's officials say x-rays later revealed the boy suffered multiple fractures.
His mother, 20-year-old Maria Estrada was booked on suspicion of child endangerment. Her boyfriend, 23-year-old Christain Ricardo Lopez was held on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, torture and inflicting cruel punishment upon a child.
The boy is being treated at a hospital.
