VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Simone Laudehr scored on a penalty kick in the 66th minute to help Germany beat Canada 2-1 in a women's exhibition game Wednesday night.
Lotzen was brought down by Canadian defender Kadeisha Buchanan in the penalty area. Laudehr stepped up and blasted a shot into the roof of the net past goalkeeper Erin McLeod.
Lena Lotzen opened the scoring for Germany in the 29th minute, and Sophie Schmidt tied it in the 53rd.
A crowd of 15,618 attended the game at B.C. Place Stadium, the site of the women's World Cup final in July 2015.
