LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot at a gas station about a mile west of the Las Vegas Strip. Las Vegas police say they found the man lying in the traffic lanes of West Tropicana Avenue when they arrived late last night. He was taken to University Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a 25-year-old driver accused of leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured an 11-year-old boy on a Las Vegas sidewalk has surrendered to face charges. Police say Rodrigo Tomax and was booked into the Clark County jail pending an initial court appearance. The boy was taken to University Medical Center with what police say were serious injuries.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Henderson police say a motorcycle officer was hospitalized but is expected to recover from injuries he received when he was involved in a crash with a car this morning. A police spokesman says Officer Marcus Hudson was thrown to the ground when a car changed lanes and into the path of his police motorcycle.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — An endangered fish species not seen in Grand Canyon National Park since the 1990s has been found spawning in the lower Colorado River. U.S. Department of Interior officials say researchers discovered larval razorback suckers in April and May. The razorback sucker was once abundant throughout the Colorado River and its tributaries.
