TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — School officials from throughout Alabama are expected to gather in Tuscaloosa this week for an education conference.
The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/1izab5F ) state schools Superintendent Tommy Bice is scheduled as the main speaker for the annual State of Our Schools luncheon at the Hotel Capstone.
The newspaper reports the Public Affairs Research Council is also planning a presentation on preparing students for the workforce.
Donny Jones is the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. Jones says the event helps the business community and the community at large get more involved in education.
