MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Wallabies scrumhalf Will Genia will undergo right ankle surgery and the Australian Rugby Union said Sunday he will sidelined for eight weeks.

Genia has been playing with ligament damage since suffering the injury while playing for the Queensland Reds in Wellington on April 26. Scans last week showed he needed an operation to fix the worsening problem and Genia, who has played 55 tests for Australia, will have the surgery Tuesday.

Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie has called Melbourne Rebels' Luke Burgess into his squad ahead of Saturday's third test against France in Sydney.

Australia clinched the series with a 6-0 win Saturday in Melbourne after a 50-23 victory in the opener in Brisbane.
