LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police have arrested a 27-year-old Las Vegas woman accused of driving under the influence when she hit and killed a pedestrian.

Authorities say the crash happened about 1 a.m. Thursday on East Lake Mead Boulevard, west of North Hollywood Boulevard.

Witnesses say a 61-year-old man was crossing the road outside of a crosswalk when he was struck by a Mini Cooper.

Driver Jasmin Pacheco remained on the scene, but failed sobriety tests and has been booked into the Clark County Detention Center. It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney.

The pedestrian died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
