MARTIN, S.D. (AP) — Construction is starting on an Indian Health Service clinic at Martin.
Groundbreaking was scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
The Rapid City Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1hJT5qI ) the LaCreek District Clinic will provide daily outpatient care, a pharmacy, laboratory, gynecology and obstetrics clinic, diabetes clinic and a children's mental health clinic.
It will serve members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe who now must drive 45 miles to Pine Ridge or 36 miles to Kyle for health care.
