LONG POND, Pa. (AP) — Kyle Larson has won the ARCA race at Pocono Raceway.
The 21-year-old Larson is one of NASCAR's brightest young stars and used the race to better learn the track for Sunday's Sprint Cup race. He led most of the 80 laps on Saturday until a bad restart with about 10 left saw him give up the lead to Mason Mitchell.
Larson worked his way back to the lead with three laps left and pulled away into Victory Lane.
Mitchell finished second. John Wes Townley, Will Kimmel and Justin Allison round out the top five.
Larson won from the pole in his third career ARCA start. The stock car series, which has no affiliation with NASCAR, usually serves as a support race during the weekend.
