NEW YORK (AP) — Merry Meadow pulled a 6-1 upset in the $150,000 Vagrancy Handicap for fillies and mares on Saturday at Belmont Park.

Rajiv Maragh was aboard for trainer Mark Hennig as the 4-year-old won for the fifth time in 20 starts. Merry Meadow ran 6½ furlongs in 1:17.36 for her first stakes victory.

Merry Meadow paid $14 and $7.20, drawing clear by 3¾ lengths. Jane of All Trades returned $13.20 to place.

Five Star Momma was third followed by Kauai Katie, the 2-5 favorite who was the trailer in the four-horse field.

There was no show wagering.
